Ashley Morrison, fondly known as the Youngest Old Cat Lady, touched countless hearts through her unwavering dedication to animal welfare. Growing up in Everett, Ashley’s profound love for animals was clear from an early age and would later define her life’s mission. She became a beloved figure in the animal rescue community, using her social media platforms to share stories, educate, and advocate for the voiceless.

In 2015, Ashley lost her father. Days later, she and her mother, Cindi, began fostering kittens at PAWS to help them through their grief. Over the years, Ashley started sharing her fostering adventures on social media. From her posts on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, people worldwide were captivated by her unique ability to discuss animal rescue with humor and vulnerability. People followed her not only because of the knowledge she was sharing, but also because of her contagious personality.

Ashley’s journey was not without challenges. Despite her own struggles with mental health, she remained a beacon of hope and compassion, tirelessly working to rescue and rehabilitate cats in need. Her authentic and heartfelt posts drew a large following, creating a supportive community that shared her passion.

Through her foster work, her uplifting and informative content, and Ashley’s Kitten Academy, Ashley has changed the lives of countless cats and people who love them around the globe.

In 2023, Ashley’s life was tragically cut short, a loss deeply felt by her family, friends, and the online animal rescue community. Determined to honor her legacy, her family and followers made a generous donation to PAWS to renovate the cat isolation building, a space where seriously sick and injured cats can heal before they are adopted. With the new cat isolation space, Ashley’s legacy of giving second chances to sick and injured cats will live on.Ashley knew better than most that working in animal rescue can be both incredibly rewarding and emotionally difficult. This garden was created as a serene space for visitors, staff, and volunteers to relax, reflect, and refresh. Here, amidst the beauty of nature, we remember Ashley’s compassion, dedication, and the countless cats she saved.

Ashley Morrison’s legacy continues to inspire. Her story is a testament to the profound difference one person can make and a reminder of the importance of mental health awareness. Through this garden and the continued efforts at PAWS, we honor Ashley’s memory and strive to continue the work she was so passionate about.
